Dr. Skirius has always had a love for analytical problem solving and microscopy. He developed an interest in microscopy at an early age through Dr. Walter C. McCrone and the McCrone Research Institute in Chicago. Having the opportunity to work under a great microanalyst like Dr. McCrone enabled him to learn methods and techniques that have set the pace for modern day microscopists.
Since earning his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry at Florida State University he gained experience and knowledge by working on a vast array of analytical instrumentation. He has extensive experience using optical and electron microscopy and microchemical analyses in the characterization and identification of unknown small particles. These capabilities, along with over 30 years of acquired knowledge in analytical chemistry techniques and the analysis of unknown materials, provides clients with a huge database of problem solving experience. Through this combination of skills, he is able to provide a unique perspective when looking for solutions to difficult analytical problems.
